One thing that we did actually buy him were some new shoes. At the beginning of our shopping trip he was very excited about all his school supplies, including his shoes. However, by the end of the night he said, "Mama, stop going in places with shoes!"
I drug the poor kid from one side of Tanger to the other and back again trying to find these special light up shoes that he wanted. I couldn't find his size, but I was secretly thankful because they were a little obnoxious. We ended up getting these beauties at Kohl's for about $10 cheaper and it's an added bonus that they are green and black (Ben 10 colors)...



I took him to Nautica to look for a first day of school shirt and he immediately pointed to this green one (favorite color). No questions about it.



Happy face...



Once we got there he was a little more excited and walked right in...
