Tyrus Tingle Turns 6

We've started a small tradition in the last 2 years.  On the morning of the kids birthdays we have cake for breakfast, just the 4 of us.  I just get a small cake from Publix and have them put the age on it.  It's a perfect size.  Another tradition, that we didn't do this year, was take a picture at 6:19, the minute T was born.  I've done it every year so far, but this year his birthday fell on a Saturday and I just couldn't bring myself to wake him up.  I kinda regret not doing it, but I'll make up for it next year.  Anyways, here his cake...

Mary woke up first and she was really excited to go wake T up and sing to him...

And here is what T got for his 6th birthday, a 47 gallon salt water tank!!  A co worker of mine was getting rid of it so he GAVE it to us including the pump and everything.  All we had to do was buy the fish.  Our plan for the day was to go get him a new fish...

Here is our sweetest boy doing what he does most of the time that he is home.  He LOVES watching and discoving new creatures...

And here he is after we sang happy birthday to him...

Cake for breakfast!!

Sweetest lady wanted some too...

So, we put her on the table...

We did buy this rock for the tank and once we got it home we discovered that it has a live oyster on it.  Can you see where T is pointing?  That is the mouth of the oyster...

His first 2 fish...

What Daddy and T do best...

They sit and talk about what they see all the time...

We had big plans for the day!  We were going out of town the next morning so we had to take Lu to Mom's so that Grandpa could watch her.  The kids love it when Lu rides with us, but they fight over whos lap she will sit in.  Here is Mary showing her unhappy face because Lu chose T...

Happy Cockapoo...

We drove to Atlanta to go to really nice fish store, but decided to stop for lunch first...

There was a pretty fountain there..

Sweet 6 year old...

Hungry six year old...

Satisfied six year old...

Plain cheese sandwich for the lady...

Six...

Mama and T...

Daddy and T in front of Pure Reef...

Tyrus enjoyed looking t their fish books in the lobby...

And Mary enjoyed spinning him in the chair...

Sweet brother and sister...

They really love each other...

We ended up getting a cleaning shrimp...

T was happy...

Florida After Kindergarten

We are here and it is PARADISE!!
We made record time to Florida yesterday when I picked the kids up from school.  I told them that if we got there fast enough we would have time to go to the hot tubs.  So, we stopped once at a gas station and once at a rest stop and made it Florida in 6 hours!!  Fastest time ever!  We went directly to the hot tubs and then went on a night walk on the beach.
Here we are today, May 26, it is so hard being cute...
I could do this everyday this summer...
Here are me and my girl catching some rays while T played with Grandma...
We were the only ones by the pool.  We tried the beach, but it was really windy and just not much fun because of that.  However, the pool was perfect.  And the bar was open...
 Here is our graduate...
I could just eat him.  He is so excited to be here and so excited to be staying with Grandma for an entire week...
Our big girl will not be staying.  Grandma has asked her to stay, but she will not leave her Mama.  That's okay though...I would miss her.  We did enjoy the pool while we were there though...
She mastered her jumping into the pool...

I'm not sure who's hand this is.  I do know it's a little Tingle hand though...
When the wind died down, and Grandma and I had consumed several beers, we all went to the beach and decided to see how T would look covered with sand...

 Mary was all for it...

But then she had to check that he was ok...

 Mary kept taking my glasses...
And since we were all covered with sand we went back to the pool to get cleaned up...
I LOVE this pool.  It's perfect for little ones AND their Mama because of the depth...

Pretty soon it started getting nasty and the storm came on quickly...

One second it was hot and sunny and the next it is cold and dark...

T, our meteorologist, was scared of the storm...

 This one was not...
We tried to wait it out, but it kept getting worse so we had to head in...

Mary and I were originally going to stay until Monday, but the rain never went away.  We ended up leaving on Sunday around lunch and were able to stay home on Monday just playing.
Tyrus is an old pro at Grandma's house and is at home there.  He ended up staying for over a week and had Grandma all to himself.  We do miss him!
