Brother & Sister
Tyrus and Mary are brother and sister. They will be forever. They have always had a sweet relationship. Tyrus has loved and doted on Mary since the day we brought her home and, even though Mary is mobile now and always takes his toys, he still loves on her all the time. Lately, we have seen a change between them - for the better. They have always communicated, but recently it has been really cool to see how their communication becomes more two sided. It is extremely clear that when Tyrus says something to Mary that she completely understands him.
Today we were in the car riding to Aiden's birthday party and I witnessed the sweetest communication between them to date. We were in a rush to get out the door. I made Mary's sippy cup of milk, but I didn't make one for Tyrus because I figured they would have juice at the party and he can drink out of a big cup. It was one less thing to grab. Anyways, what does Tyrus do when we are 5 minutes into our trip...
Ty: "Mama, I thirsty."
Me: "Well, Mama didn't make you a cup for this trip because there will be juice at the party."
Ty: "Oh. Mary has a cup."
Me: "I know, but she's a baby and needs more to drink. I'm sorry buddy."
Ty: "I have some of Mary's milk?"
Me: "Well, you can ask her and she what she says."
In a very sweet voice...
Ty: "Bear, can I have a sip of your milk?"
Mary looked over at him, looked down at her cup, and then handed it to him. Ty took a quick sip and then handed it back to her and said, "Thanks Bear".
I witnessed the whole thing in the rear view mirror. To say that it was sweet would not do it justice.
