A Thunderstorm

Neil and I have had a really difficult time lately getting Tyrus Benjamin to stay in his own bed. He asks us every single night now if he can sleep in our bed. I have given in a few nights, but I realize that he can't do this forever. So, now we have a deal. We put Tyrus in his own bed and I always tell him that if he hears thunder that he can get up and get in our bed.

Last night Neil and I had put Ty in his own bed and we were lying in our bed watching T.V. when we heard little footsteps on the kitchen floor. I got up and peaked out of our door and saw Tyrus just standing in the kitchen. He informed us that he had heard thunder and that it had scared him. We told him that it wasn't thundering and that there was no way that he heard thunder. He then informed us that Lu Lu woke him up because she was barking. Meanwhile, Lu Lu is actually comatose on the bed. We told him that it wasn't nice to tell lies and that Lu Lu had not woken him up. I picked him up and carried him back to his bed and told him again that if he heard thunder that he could get up and come get me. I tell him this because I remember as a child staying in bed absolutely TERRIFIED during thunder storms. I never ever want Ty to be scared and not think he can come get me.

Fast forward a few hours and I wake up at 3:38 because I hear thunder. Something tells me that Tyrus will be coming so I sit up in bed. If you have ever been in our house you know that you can see the hallway that leads to Ty's room from our bedroom. So, I sit up in bed and look just as Ty is running around the corner like his life depends on it. I mean, that boy can run when it means something to him. He ran into our room and proclaimed, "I hear thunder!!" and immediately crawled up next to me and was asleep within seconds.

I wish I had a video of him running around that corner. It was hilarious!
