The Doctor
Today was Ty's 3 year check up and, just for fun, I decided to combine his 3 year check up with Mary's 9 month check up. I took the kids by myself and the entire visit was exceptionally easy. Both the kids did great!
Here are their stats:
Tyrus
Weight: 39 lbs. (95%)
Height: 41" (97%)
Tyrus did great during his exam. The doctor asked him several questions about color and food and he knew the correct answer to all of them.
Doctor: "Ty, whats your favorite food?"
Ty: "Chips!" (He is definitely my child)
Doctor: "Chips? What else?"
Ty: "Fruit!" (Much better)
Mama: "Ty, what food do you eat that is blue?"
Ty: "Blueberries!"
The doctor commented that Ty is speaking really well and that she could understand almost everything he said. She was also impressed that he is potty trained and that we had to cut his exam in half for a trip to the potty. Ty was the lucky duck this visit and didn't have to get any shots. As crazy as it sounds, he was upset about this! When the doctor told him he didn't have to get any he said, "Oh doctor, I want 'em!"
When we left Tyrus told the nurse that he wanted a Mighty Machine sticker. This means a sticker with some type of bulldozer or dump truck on it. The nurse only had "Car" themed stickers. She put six different stickers in front of Tyrus and told him to choose which one he wanted. Ty put his finger to his lips and started going, "hmmmmm. hmmmmmm. hmmmmm" as he looked at every single sticker very closely. After examining them all, and as the line to check out got longer, I finally persuaded Tyrus to choose a Towmater sticker and he obliged. So, we don't have to go back for another year! However, I'm sure we'll be back before next year.
Mary
Weight: 24 lbs. (98%
Height: 29" (90%)
Head: 18" (90%)
The doctor said that Mary was perfect. Her exam was not as much fun as Ty's because she couldn't answer all the questions. She did scream at her several times though. Unfortunately, little Mary had to get three shots today. These shots must have been rough because Mary was all sweet and beautiful until that first needle went in then it was the very large mouth, very red face, eyes closed, no sound coming out cry. It was terrible!!! Tyrus was extremely upset that his "Mawy" was upset.
As we were leaving I was holding Mary. She calmed down almost instantly. Tyrus was walking beside me stroking her foot and saying, "Its okay Mawy. Its okay."
We topped off the day with a trip to Taco Bell to get Tyrus one of their new Fruitistas. He will do anything for one of these and he totally deserved it after being such a good boy at the doctor today!
