No More Max!

I'm sure that anyone with little ones is familiar with the show "Max and Ruby" on Noggin. It's a pretty cute concept. It's about a sister and brother. The sister is older and wiser and she takes care of her little brother. Tyrus and Mary love this show and are mesmerized when it comes on. Neil and I decided this weekend that this show is no longer allowed in our house. We have noticed a huge change in Tyrus lately - he is acting like Max! I'm not sure how old Max is supposed to be, but he never ages. He is unable to say complete sentences and therefore, when he wants something, he can only say one word that expresses what he wants. For example, when he is hungry he'll say "Hungry!" I cannot express in words how mad I get at Tyrus when he does this. It is so annoying! Neil and I have been ignoring him when his requests come out in one word demands. We explained to him that he needs to ask us the right way if he wants something. He will immediately say it the polite way. So, instead of taking our chances and hoping the he will get better even though he keeps on watching the show we are no longer going to allow him, or Mary, to watch the show.

Note: This is the first time that we've had to make them stop watching something because of the way they reacted to it. I'm not sure what it is about this one character that Tyrus is so determined to be like him. I'm sure that it has something to do with Mary and him not being the baby anymore, but instead of figuring all that out we're just going to stop watching it.
