A Conversation
Usually when I post about a conversation it has recently taken place between Tyrus and myself. However, this conversation took place last night. It was over the phone and it was between Tyrus and my parents. I love asking Ty if he wants to talk to someone and then calling that person on my phone and handing it to Ty and just letting him talk away. Last night he mentioned my parents so I picked up my phone, hit the button, and this is what happened:
Ty: "Hey Gammaw! Is Gampaw there?"
Grandma: "Hey Ty! What are you doing?"
Ty: "Hey Gammaw! Is Gampaw there?"
Grandma: "You want to talk to Grandpa? I'll get him."
Ty: "Yeah. Okay."
When my mom was walking to get my dad...
Ty: "I hear Missy!" (One of my parents dogs)
When my dad got on the phone...
Ty: "Hey Gampaw!"
Grandpa: "Hey Tyrus!"
Ty: "Come get me. Take me to mom's. We go fishing."
Grandpa: "You want to go to mom's"
Ty: "Gampaw, I got a hot wheel! Its a ambulance! Woooooo Woooooo!" (ambulance sounds)
Grandpa: "You've got a hotwheel? Wow!"
When I told Tyrus to talk to Grandma some more...
Ty: "Gampaw is Gammaw there?"
Grandpa: "Yeah, hold on."
Ty: "Hey Gammaw! I got a hot wheel! Wooooooo Woooooooo!"
When he dropped the phone...
Ty: "Ut oh! Its okay Gammaw, I got you!"
After Ty finished talking to Grandma and Grandpa we called Lucas. Ty doesn't really understand the concept of an answering machine. I'm guessing that Shanna and Jeff heard:
"Is Lucas there? Is Lucas there? Is Lucas there?" over and over again.
The really cool part about the conversation that Ty had with my parents was that they pretty much understood everything he was saying. Usually I have to take the phone from him and translate what he is saying, but I really didn't have to this time. My mom said that one day I'm gonna miss having to translate for him and I totally agree with that. I like being one of the few people that understands him most of the time. His speech development gets better and better everyday. This morning I was driving the kids to Andria's and we were taking turns between singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. After I finished singed Twinkle Twinkle Tyrus, very clearly, said, "Mama, lets listen to the radio."
