A Great Date
Neil and I had such a nice time last night. We started our date with dinner at this new steak restaurant in McDonough. It was delicious and we stuffed ourselves. I splurged and ordered a fillet Mignon, but it was a ton of steak for what I paid for it and oh so good. Neil was jealous that he didn't' order the steak too. I shared.
THEN it was time to drive to The Fox in Atlanta and watch my favorite movie in the world - Gone With The Wind. Let me just tell you, I thought I was a fan of the movie, but last night we were surrounded by people that had seen the movie over 150 times! You could really feel the energy and love for the movie and the Old South. Neil was really quite the first half of the movie so at intermission I asked him if he wanted to leave. The thought of him sitting there miserable made me uncomfortable. He surprised me though by saying that he was actually really enjoying it. He said it was refreshing to watch a movie where every other word wasn't a bad word, people weren't running around naked and sleeping with each other, and was just a "clean" movie. The second half of the movie was much better for me because I knew that he was enjoying it and I could relax.
I experience so many emotions when I'm watching Gone With The Wind. I think that is why I enjoy and love it so much. I feel so much pride to be from the south and to have grown up where the story was based. In one scene Scarlett O'Hara actually makes out a check to pay the taxes on Tara and the check is made out to Clayton County. There are parts in the movie where I adore Scarlett and there are parts where I want to take her by the shoulders and shake her silly so that she will wake up and realize that Rhett is the man of her dreams and not the wimpy, cowardly Ashley. I hope you've seen the movie because if you haven't then none of that made sense.
The best part about last night was just being with Neil. We took our time and drove around town a little bit. It was just a nice night. However, when we walked into the house at midnight the first thing out of my mouth was, "I miss our babies". The house just isn't the same without them. Everybody needs a night off, right?
Neil, thank you for taking me to see Gone With The Wind at The Fox. I Love You!!!
