Sick baby? Maybe not.
When I say "Baby" everyone automatically assumes that I am talking about Mary, but Tyrus Benjamin is still my baby. AND the sweet boy woke up with a 102.5 fever this morning. Now, I hope that this doesn't sound totally crazy and horrible, but I actually like it when they wake up with fevers because it is like "A ha - I KNOW that you are sick". What I mean is that there is no more guessing. Somestimes I will question myself for days on whether or not Ty is sick enough to go to the doctor. By the time I think I should probably take him - he's better! I have taken Ty to the doctor several times and there will be nothing that they can do or they say nothing is wrong with him. However, my instinct tells me something is wrong and it is frustrating when the doctor can't find anything. Anyways, Ty woke up this morning with a fever and a bad cough. My immediate reaction was, "Oh no we're going back to the hospital" (Oct. 2007). I got a little freaked out, but Neil quickly put me in my place and told me to "chill". I went to work and Neil took him to the doctor. Chris listened to his lungs and said they sounded fine. She also tested him for Strep, but it came back negative. The fever clued her that something was going on so she sent his cultures off for more testing and we should know something tomorrow. Tyrus got to spend the day with his Grandmommy ("Grammy") and was as happy as a lark when I went there after work. Chris assured us that it wasn't Croupe or Strider and we wouldn't end up back in the hospital. We were instructed to give him Tylenol and congestion medicine on a "need be" basis. I called Andria with the news and she said that her nephew had the exact same symptoms last week and the doctor couldn't find anything wrong with him either and he felt 100% better the next day. Hopefully, Tyrus will feel better tomorrow.
On a side note - thank you for all the sweet comments on Mary's photo shoot. Russ and Andria have set up a blog that shows off more of their pictures (and some more of Mary) :). The address is www.lampphotography.blogspot.com
