A VERY Tough Night...

Last night was not very much fun. Neil and I were both up, pretty much, all night with the occasional cat nap while I was breastfeeding. Mary just wanted to eat ALL NIGHT LONG! During the day she eats and then she goes to sleep, but at night, so far, she just can't get enough. She latches on perfectly and stays latched on for a very long time, but then it always seems like she didn't get anything. Neil and I think that we figured it out. Just now I pumped when it was time for Mary to nurse and very VERY little came out. This poor child probably has eaten since she was born! Apparently, my milk has yet to come in, but I am pretty sure that it will be either tonight or tomorrow because of the obvious reasons with "the girls". Unfortunately, Neil and I have supplemented and given Mary some formula. I cannot express how much this breaks my heart to have to do this, but the poor baby was starving. As of now I am going to pump every two hours to stimulate and then give Mary what comes out on top of some formula. Hopefully, by tomorrow, this won't be an issue anymore and we can go back to doing it the old fashioned way.
Other then that, WE LOVE THIS LITTLE BABY! She has the sweetest personality and the sweetest little eyes. Its funny how you can go days without sleep and be so cranky and tired, but when you look at your baby it makes it all better.

Jenn- She is so pretty!! Thanks so much for letting us come over and I am sorry we stayed so long. Walker had fun and when we got home he said "I saw Lu-Lu and baby" Tell your mom thanks for picking up after us. I hope to see you soon!

Hang in there Jenn. I remember that my OB told me that the first few days were the hardest with breastfeeding. Hopefully your milk will come in tomorrow since Mary has been nursing so much. She is so pretty by the way... one of the prettiest newborns I've ever seen!

Jenn/Neil:

Mary is beautiful. I hated not being there when she was born. I went to Manhattan the next day and bought her a NEW YORK BABY hat and onesie from the Toys R Us in Time Square.

I am so excited. I hope to see you guys soon. I just got back tonight and I know how hard it is to settle in. I am planning to wait until next weekend to come by. I will call you soon.

Love,
Bobbie
