Tyrus and Mary Lauren
We decided that today and tomorrow Ty would go to Andria's so that we could get Mary Lauren settled and concentrate completely on her. This morning when Neil got Ty up to get dressed I heard him running across the kitchen. He wanted to see his baby. Neil said that he immediately asked, "where baby go?". He loves to kiss her and tell us what her name is - "baby".
Speaking of her name, one of the main reasons that we decided on Mary, besides naming her after Neil's mom, was that it was the only one that Tyrus could say off of our list. Everytime I heard it I knew that it was meant to be her name and those feelings just grow stronger whenever someone calls to ask me how Mary is doing. Lauren has no special meaning. I have just always thought it was a pretty name. We were going to name her Mary Lynn so that she would have a name from Neil's side of the family and one from mine, but we were scared that people would call her Marilyn. I am so happy that we settled on Mary Lauren. So, Ty can definately say "Mary", but he calls her "baby".
I was really scared that Ty would get upset with me when he saw me constantly feeding Mary. I was completely wrong. Tonight the first thing he saw when he got home was his Mama feeding this new baby - again. He ran over to the recliner screaming, "I see baby, I see baby". He climbed up into the chair next to the recliner and gave her a kiss on the head. I can't describe how it makes me feel to see them together. Tyrus is an awesome big brother and I can tell that he will protect Mary Lauren for the rest of their lives. She is a lucky little girl!
