The Soothie
When Mary Lauren was born, while we were still in the operating room, the doctors and nurses told us that she had an amazing suck reflex. That is why she took so easily to breast feeding. However, the negative aspect of that is that she always wants to suck on something. This is new to me because Ty wasn't like that at all. He never took to a pacifier. After two weeks with our little princess my mom and I made an emergency run to Babies R Us yesterday to buy a pacifier. We bought a Soothie and I think we've created a monster. Mary Lauren loves it and sleeps so well. Last night she slept in her bassinet and had no wake time. I fed her every three hours and then she went right back to sleep. YAY!!! I, unfortunately, wasn't used to this so I stayed awake all night just waiting for her to wake up. Up until last night Mary Lauren has had a period of time in the middle of the night where she didn't know what to do with herself. Nothing would really please her and she would stay awake for 3-4 hours. Last night was the first night that hadn't happened and it had to be the soothie.
