I do not have any pictures for this post, but I just want to document Ty's first Memorial Day. It was very eventful!
Neil planned on going to play golf with Lee (Brandi's husband). So, when I woke up in the morning he surprised me with a gigantic blow up pool for the backyard. He had gone to Wal-Mart after Ty and I went to sleep. Other than that the morning started out pretty normal. Ty ate breakfast and went down for his morning nap. Neil spent the morning blowing up our pool and I cleaned up a little bit. Neil left around 10:15. Anyways, Ty woke up at 11:00. I was getting ready to feed him lunch when I remembered reading on my friend Melissa's blog that Walker loved hot dogs. So, we had some. I just popped that bad boy in the microwave, cut it up into tiny pieces, and Ty went to town on it. His first hot dog (on Memorial Day) was a definate hit! After that I got him ready to go outside and get in the pool. I put his suit on and put lotion all over him. When we walked outside and we were standing next to the pool Ty clung to me like one of those monkeys that you see on Television. The second his feet touched the water he took the huge breath in. The water was cold, so I couldn't blame him. I don't know if it was just our backyard, but the sun never really got hot. So, when the wind blew it was even colder. We both got in the pool and played around for a little while. After the pool I put him in the bath so that I could wipe all the sunscreen off of him. When he was done I took him and put him on his changing table getting him ready for his nap. I put lotion on him and then handed him the bottle of lotion so that it would occupy him while I was changing his diaper. Well, he held the bottle up (the full bottle) and it slipped and fell right on his face. Needless to say, he cried. I mean he screamed. I couldn't even put the diaper on him because I had to pick him up and console him. Luckily, it didn't last that long. He got over it pretty fast. I put his pajamas on and put him down for a nap. Our usual routine is that I have to go in there once and lay him back down because he stands up and can't figure out how to get back down. I did that and he was asleep. When he woke up at 3:00 he still had not gone to the bathroom (poop). I started thinking about it and realized that he hadn't gone since Sunday morning. That concerned me so I gave him some baby laxative and instead of a bottle I gave him some pedialyte. I didn't want to keep piling food and formula on him if he was constipated. After he finished the pedialyte he immediately went to the bathroom. I know it was bad because he cried while it was coming out. So, I changed his diaper and we went into his room to play. While he was playing he crawled up to me and gave me a hug. I realized that he was burning up! I took his temperature and it was 103 degrees. That scared the you know what out of me. BUT, I did not call the grandmothers (my mom or Neil's mom). I took action and gave him some tylenol and immedately put him in the shower and ran luke warm water over him. He loves that bath and the shower so I knew he wouldn't mind. When I got him out and was drying him off (the second time today) I noticed blood on my hand and on his lips. I thought maybe his gums were bleeding. That didn't concern me because sometime when he his chewing on something they will bleed for a little second. We went into the living room and I was still finding blood on me and him. I FINALLY realized that it was his finger. I have no idea what he did, but his finger was bleeding and would not stop - no matter what I did. I eventually put a band aid on it and then had to put another band aid on it trying to keep him from pulling the first one off. He looked at me like I was crazy. At that point, it was only 4:00 and we both needed naps. I went completely against the schedule and put him down for another nap. He went right to sleep, so, I don't feel too bad about it. While he was sleeping Neil got home and we cooked dinner. Ty woke up and ate with us and, of course, got extremely messy and needed his third bath for the day. Plus, I took his temperature again and even though it had gone down I felt like it would help. While he was in the bath Tyrus decided to poop. It was sooooooo nasty. Apparently the laxative drops that I had given him earlier decided to work, if you know what I mean. So, Neil helped me put him in the shower to wash him and he decided that the bath tub was not enough. I mean, he couldn't just leave the shower out - that wouldn't be fair! He pooped in the shower. I cleaned him off as best I could and Neil took him to get him in his pajamas as I bleached the bath tub and shower. Now, Neil is down stairs with Ty and I can hear them playing with each other. I hear the way that Ty is laughing at his Daddy and that is what makes days like today completely worth it. Ty if your are reading this one day thank you for a very wonderful Memorial's Day. I love you very much! - Mama

WOW! What a busy day for the both of you. Next time for the constipation try a teaspoon of corn syrup in his bottle. It works fast and isn't hard on his belly. I used to have to do that for Walker a lot. They say put one teaspoon per two ounces but I put just one for six ounces & it worked great.
