10 Months!

Our Mary is 10 months old today!! Can you believe it? I wish this little girl would stop growing up so fast. Thank goodness for this blog because I don't think I would remember anything if I wasn't able to read back over the years. Speaking of the blog, I looked back at the post that I wrote when Tyrus turned 10 months old and I thought it would be interesting to see how the babies are different at the same age.

1.) Mary is crawling all over the place and has been crawling for a couple of months now. I didn't realize it, but Tyrus was not crawling at 10 months old. I posted that he was still army crawling.

2.) Mary prefers "real" food over jars of baby food. She would much rather eat little bits off our plates then actually sit and be fed from a jar. I don't even buy jars of food anymore because they seem to be wasted. She still LOVES her bottle and will throw a tantrum if she sees one and you don't get it to her mouth fast enough. I posted that Tyrus still LOVED jars of baby food and ate three of them a day. He also loved his bottle just like his baby sister. Also, they both love carrots and puffs. Mary likes to have real soft carrots just cut up and put on her tray. When I did this for Tyrus he made a mess and preferred for someone to feed him.

3.) Mary and Tyrus rock at sleeping! They both started sleeping all night at a young age. Tyrus still took 2 naps a day at this point. Mary does the same. She wakes up between 7 & 8 and will be up for a couple of hours and then will take her morning nap. Her afternoon nap is a little more "wishy woshy" in that sometimes she takes one and sometimes she doesn't. I think she's just scared she'll miss something if she's asleep.

4.) Mary has 4 teeth on top. Her two front teeth are in and the two on each side of them are starting to come in. That explains her runny nose from a couple of days ago. She also has her two bottom teeth that look so adorable in her photos. Tyrus had 8 teeth at 10 months old. I remember this - it seemed like his teeth just came in one right after the other and before I knew it he had a whole mouth full.

5.) Mary weighs 24 lbs. and is 29 inches long. Tyrus weighed 27 lbs. and was 32 inches long at ten months.

Oh, how we love our little Mary! There is nothing like the smile that she gives you. It just melts your heart. It even melts your heart when you tell her "no" and she turns and blows a strawberry at you. I can already tell that her Daddy is going to be putty in her hands as she grows. Their faces light up when they see each other.

Mary is our little Diva. I was joking with her the other day and told her that she was going to be a Diva for Halloween. Any ideas on a Diva costume? Why is she a diva? She is so demanding - in an adorable way, of course. This morning, for example, when she woke up and wanted out of her crib she stood up and started screaming at the top of her lungs. She wasn't crying in any form or fashion. She was squinting her eyes closed, opening her mouth as much as she could, and screaming, taking a breath, and screaming again. I thought she was crying, but when I ran into her room and she opened her eyes she just gave me her beautiful good morning smile and started jumping up and down for me to pick her up. She is also dramatic and sticks her bottom lip out and pouts if you try to make her do something that she doesn't want to do. For example, when I am trying to rock her to sleep at night. She will fight it for as long as she can and then she just looks at me with that lip poked out and whimpers. Then she gives up and goes to sleep. Tyrus was never like this. In fact, we could put him in his crib wide awake and he would just roll over and go to sleep. He was always like, "whatever" with anything that we wanted him to do. Mary had her own agenda and does not appreciate being told that her schedule will change. However, we love her for it!!

I could write all day about how much I love this little girl. She does something everyday that amazes us. The other day she crawled over to a ball on the floor, picked it up, looked at me and said, "bah". She says "Mama" when she is really upset. She has said "Dada" a couple of times. Oh yeah, the other day she referred to Tyrus as "Bubba". I wish you could have seen Ty's face when she did this and when she has done it since then. Ty loves his baby sister so much and she adores him as well. She can also wave and say "buh bye". I'm trying to teach her how to say "hi" right now.

I better stop right now before I spend my entire day blogging about Miss Mary.

I love you sweet baby girl - Happy 10 months!!
