Stupid
I'm just going to start this post with a big gigantic "sigh". Ty has a new favorite word. If you can't tell by the title of this post, its "stupid". I wasn't too sure of where he picked up this word, but when I told Shanna about it she replied, "Jenn, you say that all the time." Whoops! So, maybe I do. Its better than a lot of other words, but I still hate the stares that I get from strangers or even people that know us when he says it in public. With that being said, I have really started discouraging Tyrus from saying it. I tell him that it is an "ugly word" and that he shouldn't say it. When he does say it he gets a warning and a look from me that tells him I'm not kidding. If he says it again then he gets in more trouble with either a small spanking or time out.
Tyrus is such a little stinker! This is just an example of how he tries to get around the rules:
Ty: "That's stupid"
Me: "Tyrus, that is an ugly word. You do not need to say that again."
Ty: "Stupid is ugly word?"
Me: "Yes, please do not say it again."
Ty: "I not say stupid again?"
Me: "No, please stop saying it or you'll get time out"
Ty: "Okay Mama. You not say stupid. I not say stupid."
Me: "Sigh"
See what I mean? We seem to have this conversation a lot these days. I have even been around Tyrus when he wasn't paying attention to me and he started to say it, but only got a far as "stu..." and then suddenly remembered the rules and just looked at me with the sweetest little smile and giggle. I have also been around when he doesn't think I can hear him and he whispers it very lowly. He ALSO will mouth "stupid" and he thinks he shouldn't get in trouble for that, but he still does.
I guess his choice of words could be worse.

Jenn, this is so funny! I'm sure it's very normal. I've heard a lot of kids saying "oh gosh" lately, including Lucas. You are handling it the right way, which is the important thing. And you are learning that Ty is a smart and sneaky little guy! Love, Shan.
